12/05/2006 QUESTED SHOWS S RANGE AT AES EUROPE Stand 1303 at the 2006 AES Europe will see Quested Monitoring Systems Ltd display its complete S Range of loudspeakers: the S6, S7, S8 two-way and S10 three-way self-powered monitors and SB10 subwoofer. The range covers a wide variety of monitoring requirements and is the result of three years of intensive research and development, drawing on the expertise of both Quested and sister company, amplifier manufacturer MC2 Audio. The latest addition to the range is the S10. It is the largest full range monitor in the S Range and is a three-way active reflex port design. It has been configured with a 10” bass driver, 3” mid and 1” high frequency soft dome to produce 800 Watts of crystal clear, MC2 designed amplification. The SB10 subwoofer works with the complete S Range and has a separate 1U controller, so it is remote- rather than self-powered. This has some well-founded advantages: as the SB10 is a sub controller that processes the left and right signals feeding the full range monitors, it needs to be set up and configured, a task that is much easier to do when the electronics are easy to access. Easy access to the monitoring controls is also an advantage, allowing the monitoring set up to be altered to simulate different scenarios. “We’ve had a great response to the range,” comments the company’s founder, Roger Quested. “It has already found homes in a number of well-known recording studios, including a 5.1 system at Hackenbacker Studio and West London’s legendary Townhouse studio. We’ve spent a lot of time ensuring that our monitors have a natural sound quality to them and this has been very well received.” "These products integrate Quested loudspeaker design with MC2 Audio electronics,” adds the company’s managing director Ian McCarthy. “This allows us to bring the highest standards of audio quality and reliability to our manufacturing process and so gives a wide range of users - from professional to home studios – the best possible solution in an affordable package.”
