The SM748 is a 4 in, 8 out digital crossover. Great attention has been paid to capturing the signal as faithfully as possible and reproducing it accurately using the latest digital signal processing.

The SM748 uses high-performance 24-bit converters on the inputs and outputs, running at 96kHz to give a bandwidth of over 30kHz and a dynamic range in excess of 116dB.

The SM748 features up to 9 parametric sections on each band. Parametric sections can be reconfigured to many alternate filter behaviours, including an array of filters inclusive of phase adjustment in 2 degree steps.

Each output also features a combination of limiters: a limiter designed to protect individual drivers from over-excursion/over-driving and an additional, look-ahead "D-Max" limiter for added safety.

The SM748 is able to seamlessly swtich between analogue and digital feeds, both for inputs and outputs.

Industry standard AES/EBU interfaces are built-in which allow the units to work with both digital inputs and at the same time feed digital output streams. Sample rate converters are included on the inputs, allowing the SM748 to accept streams from 32kHz up to 192kHz. (Output sample rate is fixed at 96kHz.)
