A Quested Monitoring System for Music Production

For a music producer, a studio is more than simply a place to work. It is where ideas are developed, recorded music is evaluated and creative decisions are made.
At Jay Kim’s studio, a Quested professional monitoring system has been installed to provide an accurate and powerful listening environment for music production and critical listening.

The system consists of:
- 2 × Quested VH3208 mid-field passive monitors
- 1 × Quested SB10R passive subwoofer
- 1 × Quested AP1550-2 power amplifier
- 1 × Quested SBC250 subwoofer amplifier
The combination of the VH3208 main monitors, SB10R subwoofer and dedicated Quested amplification provides a full-range monitoring system designed for detailed evaluation of music within the studio environment.
Listening to Music in the Studio

As part of the studio project, we also conducted a real listening session using the Quested monitoring system.
The music used for the session came from Choi Baek-ho’s 50th Anniversary Debut Anniversary Album, which had not yet been officially released at the time.
Together with members of the album production team, we listened to the recordings through the Quested system and evaluated the overall sound presentation, tonal balance and monitoring performance within the studio.
Rather than relying solely on technical specifications, the listening session provided an opportunity to experience how the Quested monitoring system performed with real music material created by professional musicians and producers.
The album has since been officially released, giving that earlier listening session a new connection to a completed musical work.
